Thermoforming/Vacuum Forming:

Thermoforming is a method of processing sheets of plastic resin into finished parts. Sheet stock is available in a wide variety of specifications in order that we may tailor it's performance to your needs. The plastic sheet is heated to it's particular forming temperature and immediately shaped to the desired configuration. At processing temperatures the sheet is very pliable, enabling it to be formed rapidly into great detail with a minimum of force. Pressure is maintained until the part has cooled. It is then trimmed of the excess material used to hold the sheet during processing.

Key Benefits

  • Relatively low tooling costs
  • Good physical properties in finished part
  • Ability to take advantage of multiple layer sheet material
  • Ability to produce parts with very high strength
  • Ability to form very large parts
  • Thin parts with very small thickness-to-area ratio
  • Thermoforming foam sheet
  • Pre-decoration of sheets
