The molding dies are heated cast aluminum or CNC steel. This molding method uses a semi-processed fiberglass-reinforced resin matrix. The material will flow to fill out the mold cavity once placed in a heated die and press tonnage is applied. Molding in ribs, inserts, and other details are possible. The parts will exhibit good surface appearance and accurate dimensional control. The parts require minor preparation for prime painting. Typically Class - A appearance is achieved by prime painting before topcoat painting. Applicable for higher volume (6,000-25,000/year) production of exterior, interior or under-hood applications.
